My rating: 4 of 5 stars
The Future of Us is a lovely young adult novel, full of all of the ups and downs of classic YA, with a nice little twist--the narrative is told in alternating perspectives. As our two main characters, Emma and Josh, jump down the rabbit-hole of internet discovery (and accidental FACEBOOK discovery), we get to see and feel and hear each of their points of view.
And the technique works!
The story barrels forward, with never a dull moment, and with the added wonderful conflict of watching these two misinterpret and mislead each other as they struggle with the time-twisting mystery before them. I really enjoyed this read. It was entertaining, fun, and satisfying--and I highly recommend it for a light Valentines read.
