What's up with WriteOnCon?

If you've seen some tweets and blog posts about this thing called WriteOnCon lately and wondered what the heck it is, here's a short breakdown:

The best thing about WriteOnCon by far is the community of writers who participate in the conference. You can get feedback on your work, and you can learn from critiquing other people's work. You can find new writer friends, and maybe even a brand new awesome crit partner. Plus, the big bonus, you might attract the attention of an agent--Secret Ninja Agents start lurking around the boards Monday!

That's WriteOnCon in a nutshell. If you're there, I'd love to hear from you. And if you've wondered about what exactly I'm working on, as I don't write about my WIPs very much on the blog, you can read both my MG and YA queries and pages here:

The Magician's Notebook, a MG adventure

Traders of the Sphere, a YA space western

Back to the conference! See you there :)

  4. AHHH

WriteOnCon is well over now, but it took me about THREE DAYS to detox from the forums!

I learned a lot from reading other writing samples. I learned a tremendous amount more from reading the blog posts and crit sessions in the forums. If you haven't had a chance to check things out, all of the materials are still online, and you should read them.

Now to find a conference to attend IRL :)

    1. Yes! WriteOnCon happens every year. I found it absolutely awesome for "workshopping" queries and first pages. I even workshopped a WIP that only has an outline and three chapters, and got a ton of great feedback. Plus, I met some super duper nice new writer friends.
